Highway A4 is also known as The Marão Highway, which is where the Viaduto V3 is located. The Marão tunnel is also located in this highway, it has a length of 5656 meters and it is the biggest tunnel in Portugal. The introduction of this new Highway A4 provided people with a safer alternative route to the Itinerário Principal 4(IP4). The Itinerário Principal 4 (IP4) is a notoriously dangerous highway in Portugal that allows the traffic to flow through Trás-os-Montes.
